Conga III - Ride for Breast Cancer 2010

Come one, come all to the Conga III Ride for Breast Cancer.

For this year's Conga we are again raising funds for Breast Cancer Awareness and Research. We are riding out of Texas in July and doing the Conga up to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Our Canadian sisters will be doing the same southbound. We will all meet up in Cheyenne, WY at Maverick Motorsports for a reunion of old friends, meeting of new friends, and great celebration. We ride with purpose and have a great time doing it.

Join us!

Here's what I got from Justin Johnson of MAVERICK MOTORSPORTS in Cheyenne. He's all about the Conga III Ride for Breast Cancer.

"That sounds like an awesome event. We’d love to get involved. We have an entertaining venue at our dealership that we could plan some cool stuff to entertain with plus we have some great local partners in the hotel, restaurant, city, etc. businesses that I’m sure would be more than accommodating. Let me know what you envision to be a cool and rewarding structure to this and we’ll go to work."

Just got off the phone with Debbie Disney, the director of group sales with the Plains Hotel in Cheyenne. She is putting together a group deal for us to enjoy the historic hotel and some of the local restaurants in town. I'd say that's a good thing. I'll post more when I see the proposal.

Every day justs gets better and better. We have folks planning the big meet-up on Thursday, July 8th, 2010. We have folks making patches for the Conga III. We have riders on the hunt for pink riding gear. I'm often found at the bead shop making Conga III stringers as a thank you for donations along the way. People are booking lodging and plotting routes from all across the US and British Columbia, Canada. This is getting exciting.

The Conga III is less than 8 months away. It's hard to image Conga riders rolling into Cheyenne when the temp there right now is 9F. Think Spring! When it warms, look for riders in pink gear and then you will know the Conga is under way.

I'm now making pink Conga3 fobs, with plastic beads and leather strips, as thank yous for donations along the route. They will cost me about $1.50ea to make, so any donation of $5 or more will get a rememberance of the Conga3. It can be used as a remember fob on a vest or a keychain. I'm so looking forward to July 2010. This is going to be great.

The Chrome Angels of Grapevine, Texas are the bomb!!! They had a 50/50 drawing for the Conga III Ride for Breast Cancer today. In true Chrome Angel graciousness, the winner donated her winnings back to Conga III. What a class act. These ladies give riding a wonderful reputation and I'm honored to be involved with them. If you'd like to talk with them, they will be with me at the North Texas Ride-Out Launch at Stroker's at Noon on July 4th. Come on out and meet these gals and support the Conga III.
"Cancer trembles when it hears the Conga coming down the road." Now that's some serious riding!

Hi There! I have issued a call to ride and support Conga III in Colorado, through Facebook, email and a call to CCT HOG, the best ever Hog Chapter!! I've gotten very positive responses. How should donations be handled - direct them to your website? Thanks for your help!

Sugarbutt! Great to hear your support. What a wonderful thing to see first thing in the morning. We are also on FB as Conga III 2010 Ride for Breast Cancer or find me and there's a link from my profile. Online donations can be made from the link on this blog. Look for it in the ride side under Conga Links. It will take you to a "Causes" page on FB. That way it goes directly to National Breast Cancer Foundation under Conga III AND since they are 501(c)3, it's tax deductible. Thanks for asking!
Look forward to seeing you in Cheyenne.
